ENVIRONMENTAL

Over the years, Gallions Reach has endeavoured to become a home for wildlife and a place where greenery can flourish as each year we improve upon the year before, bringing life to previously un-utilised spaces.

In 2021, bird boxes were fixed in trees throughout the Park to enhance the lives of the existing bird community and encourage new species to make Gallions their home.

We fixed the boxes in the following trees: Cherry (Prunus Avium), London Plane (Platanus Hispanica / Platanus × Acerifolia), Pinus Sylvestris, and Birch (Betula Jacquemontii).

The Shopping Park’s main event space features a living wall between Next and Superdrug. In addition, there are over 1000 plants to enhance air quality and the overall well-being of those who sit, relax and unwind whilst near this bright and vibrant feature.

We have a large landscaped area as you enter and around the walkways, car park and roundabouts feature on-site. Various plant species have been added over the years alongside many trees. Trees and plants give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilise the soil, and provide wildlife life. The site also has over 37 cycle stands, and we encourage staff and customers to use these where possible to play a small part in improving air quality locally.
